The day I got back from holiday, two kilograms of chocolate arrived at my door.
I know, I know. I’m a lucky girl. Especially since Lily O’Brien‘s is such a lovely chocolate maker.
It says on the packet that you can cook with these or eat them straight from the bag. Garry proved the first point by working his way through the entire bag of milk chocolate buttons in less than a week — I only had time to make some cupcakes with them before the whole bag had gone.
Thankfully he doesn’t like dark chocolate, so I’ve had longer to experiment with those…
To cook with, this chocolate is great. It holds its shape when baked in cupcakes, it melts easily, it makes intense, delicious and rich ganache.
As Garry proved, it’s nice enough to eat straight from the bag. And now that I’m dieting, I’m eating 25g of the dark chocolate buttons a day as a chocolatey treat.
Thanks to Lily O’Brien’s for sending me this chocolate to review — I thoroughly recommend it!
I’ve got half a bag of dark chocolate buttons left — what are your favourite chocolate recipes? I need some ideas of how to use it up…
