This is a new category where, as it says on the tin, I’m going to talk about products I love. And by love, I mean genuinely love. Not products I’m paid to talk to you about. First up is Nairn’s Oat Biscuits.
Six months ago, Nairn’s invited me to try a load of their biscuits at a blogging event. I had never tried oat biscuits before so thought it’d be pretty underwhelming. Then I tried one and starting pulling this face.
If you’ve never tried them before, they’re seriously good. This might be a personal bias, but I also think that the Nairn’s ones are tastier than other oatcakes I’ve tried since then. I ate them straight from the packet, with cream cheese on them or, my personal favourite, smeared with honey and topped with strawberries.
Anyway, the reason I’m bringing this up now is that Change4Life is trying to get people to have less sugar, and Nairn’s Oat Biscuits have been shown to have 40% less sugar than other biscuit brands.
This graph compares the amount of sugar in Nairn’s Oat Biscuits to other biscuits.
Now, I’m not one of those people who thinks that sugar is the greatest of all evils. However I am one of those people who likes getting as much food as possible whilst remaining as healthy as possible and I do obviously know that too much sugar is bad for you, so I am pretty glad that something I love so much classes as a healthier option.
So what do you think. Have you tried any Nairn’s Oat Biscuits? Do you like them?
