On Monday, I went to Unilever HQ.
We started the day with PG Tips, learning about the correct way to brew tea. Key learning: You should brew black tea with water at 95 degrees, and green tea with water at 80 degrees. Anything hotter burns it. You know that green tea so often tastes like pond water? Well, that’s why! Green tea made with cooler water is genuinely a revelation.
Then we moved on to learn about Knorr with Marco Pierre White. Marco is very charming and handsome, and I honestly found myself going all girly and blushing. He also genuinely does use Knorr, at home AND in his restaurants. They approached him after he mentioned Knorr in an interview. Key learning: When steaks are cooked to a medium rare, the blood starts to pierce through at the top of the steak.
Then, we had a Stork baking masterclass. Key learning: Mary Berry has championed Stork for baking for years, and in blind taste tastes Michel Roux Jr had to eat his words because he picked the cake made with Stork as the best one.
That’s a very dry round up of the day – seriously, watch the video. It’s MUCH more fun!
