Part of being a food blogger is being invited to foodie events. I try not to talk about them too much, because I don’t think you’ll find them very interesting — after all, why should you care if I got to eat lots of yummy food at an event unless you can eat it too? But I went to a JamieOliver.com event last week that was actually really fun, and the food we ate was delicious but also super make-at-home-able, so I thought you might like to know a bit more about it.
…and the second was his herb salad with goat cheese.
The salad was utterly scrumptious. Just look at those big dollops of goat cheese! I don’t actually like prawns unfortunately, but the look of glee on the other bloggers’ faces as they slurped them down suggested that they were equally delicious.
The entertainment whilst we ate our starters was Jon, who used to work at St John’s, showing us how to prepare kidneys.
And then serving us a plate of kidneys on toast to try.
I’d never had kidneys before and, as this photo shows, I was ever so slightly dubious…
…but I tried it…
And I still wasn’t sure as I ate it…
…but actually, s’not that bad.
Then we watched the chefs preparing our mains.
This is lemon rice. I want to serve it with every curry I ever make.
I could have eaten this all day. Keralan veggie curry, which was served with the most AMAZING minty yogurt.
And an amazing crab curry. I don’t even like crab and I loved it.
All finished up with this blooming easy cheesecake. I wanted seconds, and possibly even thirds, but at this point I was so full I could barely move.
What do you think? Anything here you like the look of?
Love, Amy xxx
