This week was a lot better than last week, but I’ve got a lot of work to do to get to the point where I’m doing everything as I should be.
I’ve decided I’m going to have to go right back to basics. I’ve been dieting for so long now that I know all the cheats and sneaky shortcuts, but actually those cheats and sneaky shortcuts become an issue when they are all that I do.
Going back to basics means:
1) Going to a class. A class that isn’t going to take any of my free time away from me. I’ve found one on Mondays at lunchtime near my office and today I am going to join.
2) Cooking again. I’ve been eating so much pre-prepared stuff recently and it’s just not good for me. Not for my body or for my soul, which really does love cooking. I’m going to plan some new recipes and I’m going to make them.
3) Planning. I haven’t planned my meals for the week since October – which also happens to be when my weight loss stalled. Coincidence? I think not. I need to get my brain in gear.
4) Exercising. I got quite fit, but then didn’t do anything for a month and now that fitness has gone. I can’t just jump straight back into something difficult and/or strenuous. I should’t walk before I can run, so I’m literally going to walk before I start to run. I’m going to try and get back into the habit of doing exercise for exercise’s sake, and that means waking up and going for a half an hour walk before work three times this week. Pray for me.
Fingers crossed it goes well. Wish me luck….
